Saturday Evening Gala

The Saturday Evening Gala will bring together conference participants in a relaxed, elegant atmosphere: the Solarium at Hope Artiste Village. A dueling piano show will kick off the event, and the later hours will feature audio/video DJ Dave Allyn. A delicious array of food comes from Whole Foods, and a "farm-to-table" bar will be provided by Millonzi Fine Catering.

The space has a rich history. It was built in phases beginning in 1899, used as a webbing mill through World War II, and then converted to a candy and plastics factory. After several decades of abandonment, the building was repurposed by real estate development company Urban Smart Growth.

Our event will take attendees on a journey through the history of the space and the revitalization of Providence and Pawtucket. Part of Sasaki's "Urban Fabric" exhibit will be on display. Photos, entertainment, and food will all connect to the chronology of the American City — its industrialization and rise, decay and decline, and recent revitalization.
